It’s Not Always the Pay

With promotions, increased salary is usually the most common reason for wanting to attain it. But money should not be your sole drive for wanting to achieve that next step in the corporate ladder. Keep in mind that a promotion is like a package; it does not come by itself. When you get promoted, it means that you will also have heavier responsibilities and more people that you will be in charge of. Also, a higher position would require more skills and experience on your part. A promotion is not just another way to add cash to your bank account, so don’t consider it solely as one.
